What is Global Partners in Care?

Global Partners in Care supports compassionate care where the need is great and resources are few. With a mission to build partnerships to enhance compassionate care globally, we are dedicated to improving access to hospice and palliative care worldwide.

Our “Partners Program” enables U.S. hospice and palliative care organizations to support hospice and palliative care organizations in developing countries. Partners engage in capacity-building, strategic planning, education, fundraising, and technical assistance to expand and improve services for those in need.

Each Partnership is unique, and is defined by the strengths of the participating entities. These opportunities create reciprocal exchanges that enable us to learn from each other, while supporting the care provided by our colleagues in developing countries. We also link hospices in other countries with national associations, government and private grant-making resources, and other U.S. organizations that share our mission to expand sustainable community health services and compassionate care internationally.

What is crowdfunding?

“Crowdfunding” is an online fundraising platform that is a new and popular way of giving. It leverages the power of the Internet and social media to inspire and unite people from all over the world in support of causes they’re passionate about. Crowd-funding pools donations of all sizes to support targeted campaigns focused on recipient organizations’ specific needs.

You can establish a campaign to meet you Partner organization’s specific needs, then use social media and your own donor network to spread the word about the campaign and the impact it will have.

Using text, videos, and photographs, the crowdfunding website describes the need and tells the story behind each campaign effort. The campaigns have a limited lifespan (up to 60 days) and challenge on-line donors to meet a specified fundraising goal within that time.

 

Who can use the platform?

One of the main benefits of crowdfunding is its broad access; anyone with a credit card or bank account and at least $10 can use the platform to support one of the Global Partners identified needs. Any U.S. Partner affiliated with Global Partners in Care in good standing wishing to raise funds for their International Partner can use the platform.

What does it cost?

All gifts made through the crowdfunding platform are tax deductible. Global Partners in Care provides the opportunity for its affiliated U.S. Partners to create a crowdfunding campaign free of charge. Please note that approximately thirteen-and-a-half cents per dollar raised through this crowdfunding site will cover administrative costs and as well as all credit card fees.
